Project drawings show where each tool goes and how the piece comes together. if you work wood, you need a place to store your tools. so for many of us, a tote box, a tool cabinet or a chest is one of the first woodworking projects we undertake.. Since beginning the program i have found a great appreciation for using only hand tools and your book just made me want to use them even more. as soon as i write my last exam tomorrow i plan on taking a shot at building your cabinet makers tool chest design from the book over the holidays. thanks again, tyler. I just converted from a wall hung tool cabinet to a tool chest and have not noticed having to any more work in retrieving tools than i did with a wall cabinet. i actually find the chest more convenient since i can move it about to a more convenient location..
Dans cabinetmakers tool cabinet viewer project - by dan o'neil from georgia, vt added on september 23, 2012 any plans on using the inside of the doors for tools or other items? reply. but i can say that i do generally keep my tool chest doors closed. i usually just grab a tool and close it back up. reply.. After reviewing the plans for this tool chest, watching the related video on the arts and crafts tool chest, and reading the comments of others, i plan to build this chest to sit on a base with legs. that should put the tools a little lower and give me the ability to move it around as my shop grows and develops.. At the ultimate end of course you have the cabinet makers tool chest. these are usually weighty affairs because of the hardwoods and they were and are the show off tool chest apprentices designed to pass for the guild exams for entry into the guilds..
